Mesyuarat Persediaan bagi Sesi Dialog Belanjawan 2025 KKM hosted by MDA for all Industry key associations
The discussion was hosted by Dr Muralithatan, MDA CEO on 3/9/2024 and was attended by major industry associations . Besides PERANTIM, others notable attendees are AMMI, MMDA and MDIA. Thank you Prof Dr Choudhury of V3Bio SB and Tn Ramlan Ibrahim of Nur Jaya Medic SB for joining me for the discussion. Some of key points forwarded by us for consideration under 2025 budget:1. Over-reliance of imports. (2023 more than 85% – Matrade). More programs and assistance for trading companies or interested parties to be upgraded into meddev manufacturers. Additionally , more emphasis on buy local.
2. Escalating cost of doing business including prohibitive cost of certification (MDR/USFDA), testing, advertising etc. Also proposed SST to be reduced accordingly.
3. ASEAN cooperation for critical equipment development led by Malaysian local via RND or M&A.
4. Tax incentives on New Hi-Tech, Green Energy/ESG and Talent development.
Dr Murali indicated that the backdrop of 2025 budget for all industries will be centered on Value Based Assessment on procurement, PPP & eliminating monopoly.
