PERANTIM led by its President Mr. Johari Abu Kasim, in collaboration with Star Medik Group, hosted officials from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan to explore export opportunities for medical devices to Uzbekistan. This significant visit was a return visit by Uzbekistan in conjunction to Malaysian Prime Minister DS Anwar Ibrahim visit to Uzbekistan a week earlier. The aim was to foster greater trade relations between the two nations by aligning Malaysian innovations with Uzbekistan’s new development plans in the medical sector. Uzbekistan was represented by Dr. Akbarjon Iminov and Mr Zoirjon Mingbaev.
During the meeting, PERANTIM members, comprised of local Malaysian medical device manufacturers, engaged in detailed discussions on how their advanced products could meet the evolving needs of Uzbekistan’s healthcare industry. Following these productive talks, a showcase event was held where PERANTIM members presented a range of their innovative medical products, highlighting the technological capabilities and high-quality standards of Malaysian manufacturers. This visit not only underscored the potential for mutual growth and development in the medical devices sector but also marked a pivotal step towards enhancing trade activities and strengthening bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Uzbekistan.
