PERANTIM participated in the Draft Final Review and Endorsement for the development of the Halal Medical Device Industry Guide, held from 9 to 10 December 2025 at the Royal Chulan Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
The program was organised by the Halal Development Corporation (HDC) in collaboration with the Department of Standards Malaysia, JAKIM, and relevant agencies under MITI. The session was also attended by representatives from the medical device industry, technical experts, and the Medical Device Authority (MDA).
The main objective of the program was to finalise the content of the Halal Medical Device Industry Guide, a comprehensive reference designed to strengthen technical understanding and halal compliance requirements among manufacturers, suppliers, and key stakeholders within the medical device sector.
PERANTIM’s involvement reflects its commitment as a Technical Committee member, contributing to the technical requirements of the guide’s development. This initiative also aligns with the strategic direction outlined in the Halal Industry Master Plan 2030 (HIMP 2030), particularly in advancing the sectoral development of the halal medical device industry.
The key outputs are the endorsement of the draft Halal Medical Device Industry Guide by all Technical Committee members, along with the alignment and consolidation of its content prior to submission to the Steering Committee for final approval.
PERANTIM was represented by Muzamal Industries Sdn. Bhd. (Ermi Fazliza). Representatives from Ain Medicare Sdn. Bhd. and OSA Technology Sdn. Bhd. also participated as industry contributors involved in drafting and reviewing the guide.
