The Standard and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) — the central body for standardisation and metrology under the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), based in Istanbul, Türkiye — has officially appointed PERANTIM as one of the Technical Committees (TCs) in its OIC-wide initiative.
This project aims to establish Malaysia’s Certification MS2636: Halal Medical Device as a reliance/reciprocal standard recognised across all OIC member countries.
In addition to Malaysia and Türkiye, other participating TCs include representatives from Egypt, Sudan, UAE, Palestine, Saudi Arabia (KSA), Jordan, Iran, Bosnia & Herzegovina, among others.
PERANTIM is represented by its President, Johari, Treasurer Tn Mat Muza, and Ms Ermi Fazliza from Muzammal Industries Sdn Bhd.
