PERANTIM held a joint conference with Persatuan Pengguna Islam Malaysia (PPIM) Muslim Consumer Association of Malaysia to express their support for Standard Malaysia’s proposal for a Halal Medical Device standard – represented by Mr. Johari Abu Kasim, Deputy Chairman of PERANTIM. The main agenda of the press conference is to provide information and to dispel certain myths regarding Halal Medical Device, which has seen several objection from industry players.
Halal Medical Device – under Jabatan Standard Malaysia (Standards Malaysia) is a voluntary standard under review by Standards Malaysia. It is still being discussed between several ministries, agencies as well as industry associations and PERANTIM of the view that the standard would bring positive impact to industry and consumers by Malaysia.
